Ottawa, the capital of Canada, is the second largest city within the Province of Ontario. It is the fourth-largest municipality in the country housing a population estimated around 812,129 people. The city lies on the southern banks of the Ottawa River and hold the reputation of being a compact, clean, cleverly planned center of culture and politics. CLIMATE

Ottawa has a humid continental climate with significantly colder winters. Unlike many of Ontario’s cities, Ottawa does not sit on the shores of Lake Ontario which results in extreme variations of temperature. Ottawa has warm, humid summers with high temperatures whereas the winters are very cold and harsh. The Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport is considered the sixth busiest airport in Canada. The public transit system is operated by OC Transpo, which is an integrated bus service system consisting of regular buses travelling on fixed routes in mixed traffic ,bus rapid transit, which includes freeways that are restricted to buses, light rail transit and lastly a door-to-door bus service for the physically challenged.
